Moscow accuses Kyiv of faking control through a flag war.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced in an official statement that its forces had thwarted what it described as organized and deliberate attempts by Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups to plant Ukrainian flags on the facades of buildings and public facilities in the Krasnoarmeysk and Rodinsky districts, with the aim of creating a false impression of the presence and control of Ukrainian forces over those areas.
The ministry confirmed that Russian units detected the movements of the two groups simultaneously and engaged them directly, resulting in their destruction before they could fully carry out their plan. Moscow considered these movements to have no real military value, but rather to be part of a psychological and media war through which Kyiv seeks to send political messages to the Ukrainian public and its supporting countries.
The statement indicated that the Ukrainian leadership is trying, through these methods, to convince its people and Western public opinion of the continued presence of what it described as its forces in the cities of Krasnoarmeysk, Dimitrov and Rodinskoye, despite what Moscow confirms about the changing balance of field control on the ground.
In the same context, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems shot down seven Ukrainian drones in the past 24 hours. The drones were flying over the aforementioned areas and raising Ukrainian flags, in an attempt to produce footage that would later be used in media and propaganda campaigns.
Moscow stressed that these attempts reflect, as it described them, a state of confusion within the Ukrainian leadership and its attempt to compensate for battlefield losses with symbolic gestures that do not alter the military reality. It also affirmed that Russian forces continue to closely monitor the situation on the ground and will respond decisively to any attempts at infiltration or provocation.
The statement concluded by emphasizing that the Russian army will continue, as it put it, to carry out its field missions and ensure what it described as security and stability in the areas under its control, warning that any propaganda attempts or sabotage operations will be met with an immediate and decisive response.
