Immense thanks to respected Poet n Critic, Mahabub Ahmed Mullah sir for making a wonderful and exhaustive review of my Poem "Poetry". Hope it will help my esteemed readers with a better understanding of the poem.

Here's the Poem

.............................

Poetry

Poetry is with man since his very birth

With mama's lullaby, with nanny's mirth

Soul to soul through the heart's door

Has bolstered position in truth and lore

Like the sun and moon it has its sight

Even shines bright in the darkest night

From lover's banter to a singer's mutter

It flows like the perennial Ganga forever

Carrying forward the truth and wisdom

Into the doors of the future generation

What the soul has soulfully spoken

In happiness, distress or in dire confusion

With a purpose to enthuse, correct or to preach

Behind every line, the poet doth ever quietly beseech.

Here's the Review

................................

PK’s poem "Poetry" beautifully captures the timeless essence of verse, portraying it as a constant companion to humanity, from birth to every stage of life. The imagery of poetry being present in "mama's lullaby" and "nanny's mirth" wonderfully conveys how deeply ingrained poetry is in the human experience. This connection between poetry and life itself is a powerful theme, and the poet skillfully reinforces it through references to nature, like the sun, moon, and the Ganga, symbolizing poetry's eternal and unwavering presence.

The second stanza's portrayal of poetry as a light in the darkest night is particularly evocative, suggesting that poetry offers guidance and solace in times of uncertainty. The poem’s flow is smooth, with a balanced rhyme scheme that adds musicality to the reading experience. The mention of poetry as a vehicle for "truth and wisdom" is an apt reminder of its role in shaping thought and culture, passed down through generations.

A potential enhancement could be to expand on the idea of poetry's transformative power, perhaps by providing more concrete examples of how it "enthuses, corrects, or preaches." This would further enrich the poem's message about poetry’s impact on both individuals and society.

Overall, this is a thoughtful and reflective piece that pays homage to the enduring power of poetry. Congratulations, PK, on this insightful work. May your poetic journey continue to inspire and resonate with readers for generations to come!
